Former State President and Chairman Royal NSW Bowling Association; Best-selling Australian Author, Writer and Journalist; Former Chairman and President Belmore Bowling Club.

John Archer is the Former Head of Driver Licensing and Driver Testing for NSW (RTA); Former Director Vehicle Registration and Road Worthiness for NSW; Former Liaison Officer between Government and undercover Police and Intelligence Organisations including ASIO, Defence Department and State and Territory Police Authorities and Witness Protection.

First Executive Director of the NSW Tow Truck Industry Council and Country service in NSW at Forbes, Orange, Dubbo and Bathurst.

Awarded Australian Sports Medal (ASM) in 2000 for distinguished service to the administration of sport, particularly lawn bowls

In 2007, John Archer was awarded the Order of Australia Medal for services to sport and charities.

As a Justice of the Peace has sat on the Bench at Hearings and Tribunals.
