Recipients of awards willing to participate in the Quiet Australians project can complete this proforma and lodge it with the local branch of the association.
This project is open to all recipients not only association members.
THE QUIET AUSTRALIANS
The purpose of ‘The Quiet Australians’ project, as approved by the national committee , is to provide an enhanced record of the recipients of awards in the order of Australia.
Information including a proforma is available. Could I encourage your participation. You may elect to restrict the information provided if you so wish.
The proforma can be completed by hand and the information will be typed into the necessary computer format by your branch committee members or me.
Photographs can be either passport style or other and if requested they can be returned after being incorporated into the computer record.
The oral history details at this stage can merely be an indication of your willingness or otherwise to be a candidate for an interview. I envisage that this process would take only about one hour or so.
I hope the documentation and idea are not too daunting, the intention is to keep things as simple and flexible as possible and to gradually build the project.
Again, can I encourage your participation and that of other recipients known to you. The collection of stories embodied within the service rendered by award recipients represents a most valuable national resource. The intention is to enhance that national resource and make it available to our fellow Australians as both a source of inspiration and education.
